TECHNOLOGY

Polypropylene is a low friction material that is slightly flexible while maintaining a rigid infrastructure. Because of these traits, PESTAN pipes can endure aggressive external impact and internal abuse that would otherwise disable metal pipes. Likewise, they are able to resist accidental freezing without splitting or cracking. Furthermore, PP-R and PP-RCT pipes are made of non shattering material excellent for use in compressed air applications and vacuum systems.

TECHNOLOGY

PESTAN’s unique recipe of PP-R and PP-RCT, oxidative agents and additives and unique technology of middle fiber layer extrusion,
provides pipes with longer service life under high temperatures. Fiber layer is made of PP-RCT material and glass fibers which are ideally integrated within the PESTAN pipe structure. When this special layer is extruded, the outside and inside layers remain unaltered. When exposed to the heat the glass fibers prevent PP-R and PP-RCT material from expanding. As a result, the overall expansion and contraction of the pipe is reduced by 75% compared with non-fiber plastic pipes. The fiber pipes are specially designed for hot fluid installations, while the non-fiber pipes are meant only for the use in cold fluid installations. The fiber layer controls the expansion and keeps the rigid shape of the pipe even at 180F with less support space in comparison with other plastics.

During the welding process, fiber layer or properties of the material do not get affected. In fact, at the connections between the pipes and fittings accumulation of extra material is attained, making it strongest part of the system resistant to undue stress.
