Repair Pin

  1. REPAIR PIN INSTRUCTIONSFirst assemble the tool for repairing
  2. Clear the hole as well the penetrating object. Remove any trace of water from the pipe itself. Disable direct contact of water from the pipe with the area being repaired.
  3. Mark repair pin for appropriate depth of insertion, which should be equal to the thickness of the pipe wall. If you do not know exact thickness of the pipe, you can look at chapter X in the PESTAN catalog. You can also compare the pin with the edge of a pipe which has not yet been installed.
  4. When the proper welding temperature is reached, insert the repair head into the pre-drilled hole on the pipe. Insert the repair pin into the repair tool. Heat both the hole and the pin for 5 seconds.
  5. When the proper welding temperature is reached, insert the repair head into the pre-drilled hole on the pipe. Insert the repair pin into the repair tool. Heat both the hole and the pin for 5 seconds.
  6. Remove the unused portion of the repair pin by cutting it. Wait at least two minutes before turning the system back on.

Saddle Repairs

A saddle connectionis used for the holes and cuts too large to be fixed using the repair pin. The procedure is simple; just drill out the hole with PESTAN drill bit just larger than the hole on its own. Proceed with welding saddle fitting into the hole, adhering to the original instructions. Then, fuse a short length of pipe into the hole and cap. If the outlet will be reused as a branch or drain, use a length long enough to be fused into the hole again. However, if this is not so, use a piece just long enough to fuse the cap into it.
